Job Description:

The Office of the Registrar is seeking applicants for several Registrar Specialist I positions to join a collaborative and innovative team in the Office of the Registrar. The successful candidate will join the Records team within the Office of the Registrar and report to the Assistant Registrars for Records. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, problem-solving skills, the ability to analyze and interpret data, effective communication skills, strong customer service, independent decision-making, and the ability to collaborate effectively with campus partners.

The Registrar Specialist I for Records will be responsible for accuracy, maintenance, certification, and processing of student academic records; including assisting with transcript and verification requests; will understand and adhere to all university, state, and federal policies and procedures with regard to the recording, retention, destruction, and release of academic records; and will follow university policies to record student progress toward degree as measured by course completion and earned grades.

 The Registrar Specialist I will assist with documenting and communicating procedures for new and updated policies affecting student records and registration; advise students, staff, faculty, and others regarding established and/or new or modified policies and procedures; and assist in data validation and testing of Student Information Systems. In addition, the Registrar Specialist I will assist with the lineup of student graduates for the University Commencement Ceremonies.

Additional information:  Office hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday-Friday, with flexible hours between 7:30am – 5:30pm. University WorkFlex options will be available after appropriate training period. Evening and weekend hours required for the University Commencement Ceremony each fall and spring semester.

This is a one year term position.
Example of Duties

• Coordinates, plans, and supervises student enrollment, course scheduling, and audit and review of student paper and electronic student files.

• Coordinates and certifies licensure and credentialing requests.

• Monitors and oversees student records compliance requirements.

• Researches, interprets, clarifies, and applies varied and complex policies, regulations, procedures and guidelines related to registration, matriculation, residency, student academic status, course class conflicts, transfer credits, degree progress, and student eligibility related to athletic participation.

• Responds to inquiries pertaining to registration/academic requirements and procedures.

• Orders, proofs, corrects and updates student records.
