Job Summary: The Registered Nurse, under general supervision, provides comprehensive nursing services to students, faculty, staff, community residents and families participating in the Mobile School-based Primary Care Clinics.

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Required Experience:

• Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience

Required Licenses and Certifications:

• Requires an active license in good standing as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas; current CPR certification; valid Driver’s License

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
• Ability to work a flexible schedule

Preferred Education:

• Master’s degree in Nursing or related field

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in public/community health, mental health, home visits
• Experience working with diverse and underserved populations, communities, and organizations

Preferred Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
• Experience with electronic health records

Job Responsibilities

Comprehensive Nursing Services

• Maintains highest standards of nursing practice
• Participates in Reflective Practice
• Provides comprehensive nursing services to patients participating in the Mobile School-based Clinics in accordance with Professional Nursing Standards
• Ability to drivel to and from patient homes and schools of patients participating in clinics in order to provide vital services.

Reporting and monitoring 

• Evaluates and reports patient progress
• Visits, monitors, tracks, and reports patient data

Other General Responsibilities

• Serves as a key member of the school-based clinic program team
• Participates in community coalition
• Engages in program team meetings
• Promotes the Texas A&M program via marketing and outreach efforts at local and regional levels
• Completes required trainings and participates in professional development

• Performs other duties as assigned.
