The Registered Nurse, under general supervision, provides comprehensive nursing services to students, faculty, staff, community residents and families participating in the Mobile School-based Primary Care Clinics.

Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Other Factors: This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding which is renewed under the provisions of the grantor of the contract. This position, therefore, is contingent upon continuation of funding of these grants and/or contracts and satisfactory job performance.

Required Education and Education:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing. Four years of clinical nursing experience.

Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • Active license in good standing as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas; current CPR certification; valid Driver’s License or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish

  • Experience with electronic health records

Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive Nursing Services: Maintains highest standards of nursing practice. Participates in Reflective Practice. Provides comprehensive nursing services to patients participating in the Mobile School-based Clinics in accordance with Professional Nursing Standards. Drive to schools and homes of patients participating in clinics in order to provide vital services

  • Reporting and monitoring: Evaluates and reports patient progress. Visits, monitors, tracks, and reports patient data

  • Other General Responsibilities: Serves as a key member of the school-based clinic program team. Participates in community coalition. Engages in program team meetings. Promotes the Texas A&M program via marketing and outreach efforts at local and regional levels. Completes required trainings and participates in professional development
