Summary of Essential Duties:

  • As a Clinical Nurse III you will perform a variety of direct patient care activities specific to the unit and needs of the patient population, from birth through adolescence, and for the entire course of their adult lives. 
  • Perform patient assessments, triage patient concerns, provide clinical education to patients for pre-ops and other disease management education.    
  • Manage anticoagulation, coordinate patient care, and maintain overall management of the ambulatory cardiac clinic with over 20 providers daily.
  • Obtain prior authorizations for patient medications.
  • Triage phone calls from patients, pharmacies, and other providers
  • Identify the ability of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients to follow instructions, as well as safety concerns in the age-related populations.
  • Institute additional measures to provide a safe environment.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
  • BSN highly preferred

License/Certification:

  • Current, unrestricted California RN license required
  • ACLS from the American Heart Association required
  • PALS from the American Heart Association required
  • Specialty certification required (or willing to obtain within one year of hire)

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of acute care nursing experience required.
  • Experience in PICU, Pediatrics or congenital heart strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability in a specialty area (procedure center, ambulatory clinic and/or cardiology) strongly preferred.
  • Excellent IV skills required.
