The Registered Nurse II, under general supervision, is responsible for providing direct patient care, evaluations, and treatment. The selected candidate will assist with the day-to-day operations for assigned clinic area(s) and provides supervision. Required Education and Experience:

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas

  • Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse

Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas. Basic Life Support certification. Licensure/certification must be maintained for continued employment

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN)

  • Two years of experience as a registered nurse including some supervisory experience


Responsibilities:

Patient Care - Provides direct patient care, evaluations, and treatments, including the administration of medication and therapy as directed. Accurately documents patient care activities in the electronic medical records system (EMR) in a timely manner. Provides patient education. Acts in accordance with all relevant laws, rules, regulations, and professional nursing standards. Assesses, coordinates, and assists with the day-to- day operations for assigned clinic areas, including the Nurse-run Clinic. Evaluates potential risks to patients and staff and initiates resolution through effective education and change process. 
 

Supervision & Management  -Supervises assigned staff and analyzes workload and skill requirements to meet patient care needs. Reconciles time clock entries and approves timesheets and time off requests. Provides effective and timely performance management feedback. Conducts performance evaluations in cooperation with the Chief Nursing Officer. Serves as unit/department resource for the clinic regarding policies, procedures, and standards. Performs other duties as assigned.
