Registered Nurse
TNPRC – Operations
Location:  Covington, LA
Summary
The Registered Nurse is a nurse who assumes responsibility and accountability for the delivery and management of patient care within the scope of practice. This position functions as part of the Occupational Health (OH) clinic and receives guidance and technical supervision from the Occupational Health Nurse Specialists. (OHNS). The RN participates in the provision of health care, screening examinations, health counseling, medical record maintenance and other related services within the OH clinic. 
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to pass respiratory physical to wear an N-95 and Powered air-purified respirator (PAPR).
• Ability to perform the essential duties of the job required, including the ability to lift 25 pounds. 


SPECIAL REQUIRED ABILITY FOR INCUMBENTS WHO HAVE CONTACT OR EXPOSURE TO ANIMALS OR ANIMAL TISSUES:
Ability to complete and pass successfully the required occupational health screening referenced in the University’s Animal Handler Health Surveillance Program on an annual basis. 


REQUIRED BACKGROUND CHECK, PHYSICAL, AND DRUG SCREENING FOR INCUMBENTS WHO HAVE CONTACT OR EXPOSURE TO ANIMALS OR ANIMAL TISSUES:
Selected candidates must complete and pass a background check and an occupational health screening as a condition of employment. For identified jobs, a drug screening will also be required. The background investigation, required occupational health screening, and any required drug screening will be conducted after a conditional employment offer has been extended. 
Required Education and/or Experience
• Graduate of an accredited school preparing Registered Nurses with current licensure from the Louisiana State Board to practice professional nursing upon date of hire.
• Two years’ experience working in a medical office or clinic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Current CPR or BLS Certification.
• Current, unencumbered Louisiana Registered Nursing license
• Excellent communication skills and ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Compensation Information
This position is classified as "non-exempt, hourly" and is assigned to pay grade 26.
