Job Summary
The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care to our pediatric population. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams. Carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required. Performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals are among the nation’s leading pediatric specialty hospitals, according to U.S. News & World Report 2022-23 rankings with expertise covering virtually all pediatric conditions, including cancer, heart disease, neurological disorders, pulmonology, diabetes and endocrinology, as well as the care of critically ill newborns. The two campuses in San Francisco and Oakland are known for basic and clinical research, and for translating research into interventions for treating and preventing pediatric disease. The Pediatric Emergency Department (ED) at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital San Francisco is a state-of-the art 19-bed outpatient unit serving our local community and beyond to provide the highest-quality emergency care and support for children and families. The Emergency Department is part of San Francisco’s only children’s hospital. We treat infants, children and adolescents with serious illnesses or injuries 24 hours a day. The Emergency Department is staffed by board-certified pediatric emergency medicine physicians with access to more than 150 experts in 50 different medical specialties.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of one year of recent Registered Nurse clinical experience in a Pediatric Emergency Department, or combined Pediatric/ Adult Emergency Department.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
- Current American Heart Association CPR certification
- Current American Heart Association ACLS certification
- Current American Heart Association PALS certification
- This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

- BSN
- CEN/CPEN certification
- ENPC certification
License/Certification
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
