Hourly range for Registered Nurses $38.26-$59.35 / hour

  • Evening Shift Differential-$3.00 / hour
  • Night Shift Differential- $4.00 / hour

  • Night Shift Weekend Differential- $6.90 / hour
  • Charge Nurse Differential- $1.00 / hour

Responsibilities*
  • Provide the delivery of culturally sensitive, age-specific team-based care models in delivering nursing care for Primary Care patients including, adult medicine, pediatric, and OB/GYN patient populations.
  • Perform phone triage, including assessment, screening, clinical advice, nurse visits (in person/ video visit) in-clinic hands on procedures, and other duties assigned.  
  • Accurate and efficient documentation of nursing care. 
  • Knowledge and appropriate use of internal and external resources. 
  • Provide functional supervision to assistive personnel; collaborate with colleagues, other disciplines, and health care/community services to promote continuity of care.

  • Demonstrated customer service, interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to build respectful relationships within and between units and individuals.

  • Demonstrated adaptability to changing needs and priorities based on unit, department, and institutional goals/objectives.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills providing patient and family education and coaching related to chronic conditions including, but not limited to, diabetes, asthma, and coronary artery disease.
  • Proficiency with typing and electronic health record documentation
  • Ability to manage complex clinical issues utilizing assessment skills, protocols, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Willingness to adapt to different populations ie: pediatrics, OB/GYN, adult medicine as patient demands. Orientation and training would be provided for new subspecialties within primary care based on expansion of division.

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework REG NURSE - LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.

Required Qualifications*
  • Current licensure to practice nursing in Michigan. 
  • Three (3) yrs. (out of the last 5 years) of RN experience in Adult Internal Medicine (to include Adult Inpatient, or Emergency Services, or Ambulatory Care Medicine Adult) AND One (1) year pediatric (medical) experience.

Desired Qualifications*
  • BSN
  • Certification in Ambulatory Nursing
  • Ambulatory Phone Triage experience       
  • Experience working as a RN, providing care to Family Medicine patients.                                  
  •  Experience working as a RN, providing care to OB patients in the ambulatory care setting.

Work Schedule

Hours/Week: 40 hours per week 
Shift/Hours/Days: Day Shift; Mon-Fri (hours are variable) includes Saturdays. 
Location: East Ann Arbor Health Center, with potential to work in other locations with expansion of division. 

Hours may be variable (nontraditional) based on clinic/patient/volume needs due to patient needs, volume demands.  


Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.


Background Screening
