REDCap Database Administration Manager  - (240000JJ)
  

The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Institute for Clinical & Translational Research (ICTR) is seeking a REDCap Database Administration Manager to coordinate with campus IT and support the transition to a consolidated and centrally managed REDCap environment. In addition, the role will manage the REDCap team during the transition and improve and greatly expand the support infrastructure (REDCap Administrator(s), support personnel, training program for users, etc.) to support the robust and growing research community at UMB and UMCP. Remote and/or Hybrid work options may be considered.  

We are looking for a team player with strong enterprise software skills and an interest in contributing to human health in an academic environment. Must have excellent communications skills, be willing to understand ICTR processes, and contribute ideas and solutions to a high-performing, motivated informatics team.

Primary Duties:

  • Manage the designing of database systems and programs which include access methods, access time, file structures, device allocation, validation checks, statistical methods, and security.
  • Implement and enforce appropriate data integrity and security mechanisms.
  • Manage REDCap server updates.
  • Manage Consolidation of REDCap servers.
  • Develop and review policy, procedure, and security documents.
  • Provide end user support of REDCap including user accounts, approving draft changes, pre-production reviews, responding to user questions, and communicating best practices.
  • Provide end user training for use of the application and develop REDCap training materials.
  • Develop and implement plan for REDCap Administrator team growth. Supervise, evaluate, and manage Database Administrators. Provide technical assistance and guidance to IT Staff on database management and application performance tuning and efficiencies.
  • Develop and implement self-service support resources for UMB REDCap users.
  • Participate and represent the University of Maryland Baltimore REDCap Consortium.
  • Work with UMB ICTR leadership in developing long-term vision for UMB REDCap.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 

Qualifications

  

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Administration, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: Five (5) years of experience in development, implementation, and maintenance of ERP database systems across multiple platforms.

Preferred Experience: Experience in REDCap administration and/or clinical research data management preferred. Familiarity with health care research, HIPAA, and other health data regulations preferred.

Supervisory Experience: One (1) year of direct supervision or responsible for training, work coordination, and monitoring work of others.

Hiring Range: $113,000 - $141,000 (Commensurate with education and experience)
