Position Information
The School of Pharmacy invites resumes for a full-time, exempt position with benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position reports directly to the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary source of information for prospective students with regard to pre-requisite information and application policies, and practices;
  • Evaluate prospective student transcripts and applications and input data;
  • Establish a procedural manual regarding recruitment;
  • Coordinate faculty, staff and students to assist with recruitment efforts (includes summer camps) and virtual and in-person informational sessions;
  • Contribute to enrolled student activities (e.g. orientation, student ambassador training, awards ceremony, Hooding Ceremony, etc.);
  • Facilitate student movement through all aspects of the admissions and matriculation process, as well as all student related activities once enrolled;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with UMES undergraduate academic departments, as well as community colleges and four-year colleges/universities to effectively recruit students and enroll those that have been accepted for admission;
  • Represent the school at off-and on-campus events/college/graduate and professional fairs, open-houses, and other recruitment events (occasionally requires evenings and weekend hours); participate in School of Pharmacy committees;
  • Monitor student satisfaction with recruitment efforts and events through surveys and ongoing performance feedback.
  • Collection and analysis of data concerning recruitment efforts and events.
  • Record, monitor, report expenses related to events and services.
  • Regularly report results to the ADSA.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three years of events coordination and student services experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with office computing (Microsoft Office, inclusive of Word, Excel, and Outlook) and data management skills (e.g., People Soft, PharmCAS, Webadmit).
  • High degree of cultural sensitivity and awareness in working with diverse student population.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree.
  • Prior health/science recruiting experience .
  • Familiarity with a variety of the concepts related to Pharmacy School admissions.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Must have strong organizational skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Superb customer service and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collegially in a team oriented environment.
