The Foster School has an outstanding opportunity for a is Recruiting and Admissions Manager to support the Master of Science in Entrepreneurship (MS ENTRE) program.

MS ENTRE is a 12-month, self-sustaining graduate degree program which focuses on the startup process, stages of development, and prepares students to build and launch high-impact companies. The degree is based on a real-world, practical curriculum, mentoring from Seattle entrepreneurs, and the opportunity to work on a student’s own ideas. The Counseling Services Coordinator will report to the Director for MS ENTRE. The position will interact regularly with staff in the Buerk Center for Entrepreneurship and the Foster School, faculty, and prospective students in a wide range of advising and administrative tasks. 

We are searching for a motivated individual who can work in a flexible environment, who is capable of working independently, and exercising independent judgement. This position requires strong people skills and knowledge of university procedures, rules, systems, and policies. The person in this position must be able to communicate effectively with students, prospective students, and applicants with widely varying academic backgrounds, work experiences, and nationalities. The Recruiting and Admissions Manager will administer MS ENTRE recruiting activities and events and should be available some evenings, as required.   

This is a detail-oriented position, requiring handling of multiple tasks, customer service and good people skills, and knowledge of University procedures, rules, systems, and policies; however, the position also requires a strategic vision for key areas of marketing/recruiting/admissions, program operations, student services, mentoring, and alumni engagement. Because this is a developing program, we are seeking an educational leader who is mindful of complexities in today's higher education landscape and can translate those into meaningful, forward-thinking academic planning policy and practice and who has a good understanding of the direction and goals of the program to keep its potential base expanding.

The Recruiting and Admissions Manager is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and managing recruitment, marketing/advertising, and admissions initiatives for the Foster Master of Science in Entrepreneurship (MS ENTRE) program and is responsible for advising and counseling prospective students. 

This position is strategic in nature and owns the recruiting and admissions activities for the MS in Entrepreneurship program. This position is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of strategic recruitment, admissions, and admitted student initiatives that support the overall goals of the program and school.
This position has a high level of contact with a broad range of prospective students and is required to make independent decisions in advising and counseling prospective students and keep informed of resources both on and off campus to assist prospective students in their academic, professional and personal endeavors. In addition, the Recruiting and Admissions Manager is expected to think strategically about the prospective student experience and school objectives and implement admissions/recruitment changes and new initiatives as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

RECRUITMENT, MARKETING & OUTREACH

• Design, develop, execute, and manage the recruitment strategy for prospective student engagement. This includes--but is not limited to--lead generation and lead nurture activities, information sessions, application workshops, industry events, special recruiting events, social media and program website.
• Counsel and advise prospective students on the MS ENTRE program, Foster, and their program fit. This person must have a deep understanding of the program, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and be flexible to meet with candidates via drop-in or appointments, web conferencing, phone, or email.
• Work closely with part-time student worker on admissions and recruitment activities. Oversee their execution of responsibilities related to admissions and recruitment and provide leadership, training and guidance as needed.
• Advise prospective students on the MS ENTRE program–-prerequisites, minimum requirements, curriculum, program fit, and preparation of application materials.
• Develop quarterly prospective student communication plans, including email campaigns and social media. Execute the marketing campaigns and prospective student communication plans.
• Manage the program’s CRM.
• Serve as liaison to Foster's Marketing Communications team. Work together to create and implement a strategic marketing plan.
• Develop and present information sessions and application workshops, in person and online, to prospective students.
• Represent the program at career and graduate school fairs, recruiting events, and meetings.
• Design, develop, execute, and manage the prospective student Class Visit program.
• Develop and manage a student ambassador program. Advise student ambassadors on how to promote Foster, share their experiences and give advice to prospective students participating in the Class Visit program.
• Work closely with the Foster School alumni team to explore ways to include recruitment in alumni events.
• Respond to a high volume of inquiries about topics such as program fees, financial aid, curriculum, career services provided, informational events, application process, etc.

ADMISSIONS & NEW STUDENT ONBOARDING

• Develop, implement, and manage the admission process and policies in collaboration with the program director.
• Manage the inflow of application materials. Ensure applicant information is maintained with a high degree of confidentiality and accuracy. Investigate and resolve issues as they are brought to attention and ensure applicants receive timely communications regarding materials received.
• Oversee the rolling admissions application review process. The planning and execution of the process requires establishing deadlines, scheduling review meetings, timely communications, and organization of materials for the MS ENTRE Application Review Committee.
• Read, score, and evaluate applications. Coordinate and conduct online interviews with Director.
• Track candidates as they move through the evaluation, interview, and decision process. Monitor the waitlist, providing updates to and responding to questions from candidates until they receive final decisions.
• Communicate admission decisions to applicants and convey decisions in the Graduate School’s MyGrad Program.
• Develop, design, and manage the admitted student onboarding process from acceptance through arrival on campus – including, but not limited to communication plans and admitted student events.
• Plan and execute the 3-day new student orientation each June at the beginning of the program in collaboration with the Director and Faculty Director.

ACADEMIC SERVICES & ALUMNI RELATIONS

• Ongoing academic services, including informal advising, and making introductions for students with connections in the Seattle Entrepreneurial community.
• Attend workshops, Startup Walks, mentor events, and student events as needed.
• Work with Director and Foster alumni team to create an alumni calendar and engagement plan, focusing on orientation and mentoring activities, as well as general communication. Develop ways to engage alumni in program activities and UW initiatives.
• Create and maintain tracking system for alumni.
• Develop and administer an annual alumni survey to follow MS ENTRE alumni careers over time.

ADMINISTRATION & BUDGET

• Participate in organizational meetings with the Director, providing strategic input on operational aspects of the program.
• Act as liaison with the UW Graduate School to ensure UW and Foster School policies and procedures are followed.
• Manage program budgets for recruitment and admissions activities, including events, marketing campaigns, Class Visit and Ambassador programs, etc.
• Evaluate and report on the performance and effectiveness of recruiting and admissions strategies quarterly and annually.
• Manage student employee supporting the recruiting, marketing, and admissions activities of the program.
• Conduct research and benchmarking for special projects, as needed.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Master's degree in business, social sciences, education, or a related field
• Minimum two years of experience in recruiting or an advising/counseling capacity in an educational or non-profit setting.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

Admissions or enrollment management experience.
• Experience working in a university or educational setting.
• Familiarity with CRM systems. Salesforce a plus!
