Overview

The Recruiter for Students is responsible for prospective student recruitment for Touro University's Undergraduate Nursing and Graduate Speech Pathology programs within the School of Health Sciences, aiming to grow the qualified applicant pool and actively seeking out and attending high school and undergraduate open house career events (primarily within the NY state/tri-state area).In addition, this role is responsible for increasing Touro's brand recognition within potential applicant pools, and assisting with the implementation of a recruitment strategy The incumbent in this role will have a demonstrated passion for higher education and interest in impacting the lives of future students.


Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following (NOTE: All bullets relate to both Departments):

Recruitment

  • Develop and execute a schedule of recruitment events (both virtual and in-person) hosted by the Nursing and/or Speech Pathology programs. These events may include traditional information sessions as well as student-run events, individual faculty spotlight events, micro-continuing education presentations, accepted student days, and campus tours.
  • Participate in Touro University recruitment events including Open Houses and Information Sessions for the School of Health Sciences.
  • Identify and participate in external recruitment events such as pre-health fairs, health fairs, career fairs, graduate school fairs, etc. utilizing Touro University resources such as the Handshake platform.
  • Identify college clubs such as pre-nursing and pre-speech pathology clubs to send information and host information sessions.
  • Create and manage a database of prospective applicants including those that attend recruitment events or complete the RFI (request for more information) forms.
  • Generate and maintain data and reports related to recruitment, retention, and enrollment.
  • Manage the CRM system and utilize its features to keep potential applicants engaged.
  • Oversee collaboration with the Office of Admissions to manage and maintain recruitment and promotion materials, visibility, and recruitment efforts for both departments.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Admissions to improve enrollment demographic diversity, retention rates, and grow qualified applicant pool.
  • Develop knowledge of and be able to articulate accurate information on the nursing and speech pathology professions including pre-requisite requirements, admissions process curriculum, job descriptions, similarities and differences in work environments and populations, etc.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and communication with Touro and other undergraduate programs for pipelines, pathways, and articulation agreements between the Nursing or Speech Pathology programs and its targeted markets.
  • Assist chairpersons in program evaluation, strategic planning, and strategy implementation related to recruitment and enrollment.
  • Assist chairpersons with program development projects and tasks related to student recruitment, retention, and enrollment.
  • Serve as the Nursing and Speech Pathology programs ambassador at various forums, meetings, and conferences related to recruitment, retention, and enrollment.
  • Identify available scholarships appropriate for Nursing and Speech Pathology students.

Branding & Communication

  • Create a series of timed communications.
  • Create and manage strong social media campaigns for each program (FB, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, etc.).
  • Advertise, prepare websites, prepare documents, and set up open house information sessions, health fairs, etc.
  • Disseminates appropriate information in a timely fashion about the programs to prospective students, current applicants, and other interested parties.
  • With the Nursing and Speech Pathology department chairperson collaborate with Touro University marketing personnel in the development, implementation, and maintenance of marketing plans to enhance diverse recruitment strategies and yield management that builds University's reputation and enhances student enrollment.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree required.
  • Recruitment/Admissions knowledge/experience preferred (*can include student work experience or relevant college coursework).
  • Experience working in higher education and/or recruitment is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Demonstrated proficiency in communication (written and verbal) required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook required.
  • Effectively manage and organize daily tasks, independently and with a team, while balancing multiple projects and meeting deadlines required.
  • A high degree of interpersonal competency: Professionalism, diplomacy, judgement, and discretion required.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and meet deadlines required.
  • Prior experience with a CRM platform preferred.
  • Exposure to a common application system (CAS) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Ellucian Banner preferred.

Travel

  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Frequent travel to other campuses and the community (Primarily Long Island and New York/New Jersey metropolitan area).
  • Attend recruitment events including some evenings.

Physical Demands

  • Extensive time sitting and standing.
  • Extensive use of computers.
  • Ability to lift 5 pounds

Maximum Salary
USD $80,000.00/Yr.
Minimum Salary
USD $64,000.00/Yr.
