Job Profile Summary

Under the limited supervision, the Recruiter will lead the recruitment function including outreach and partnership-building, community based organizations, and other appropriate recruitment resources to attract talented staff to the institution.
Works in a highly collaborative manner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, and to develop and execute customized sourcing and recruiting strategies to generate a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future staffing needs.
The recruiter will provide advice and consultation to administrators, supervisors, and employees on personnel policies, procedures and ensuring compliance with federal/state laws and regulations, as they relate to recruitment.
Must have good analytical and research skills.
Excellent organization and communication and presentation skills. Must be self-directed and able to prioritize work as required.
Must be able to maintain all information in a highly confidential manner.

  

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered where applicable.  

Minimum Experience/Training:

  • Four years experience with recruiting and candidate sourcing, preferably within HR or staffing agency environment using an online job application system is required.

Essential Functions:

  • Daily - 30%: In compliance with College policies, federal, state and local laws, performs full cycle recruitment and hiring to include job posting, evaluating applicants to determine if they meet the position requirements, participating in interviews, making selection recommendations, performing background checks and assist with the new hires on-boarding process. Utilizes targeted and niche sourcing strategies to fill critical vacancies.  In addition to traditional job boards, must be able to effectively utilize social media to network and direct source passive candidates to fill vacancies. Researches innovative sourcing strategies and find new ways to leverage resources and technology to facilitate a collaborative and efficient search process.
  • Daily - 10%: Conducts research on various employment issues and respond accordingly.
  • As Needed - 10%: Represents the college at job fairs/community outreach events to encourage applications for college positions.
  • Monthly - 10%: Researches advertising sources and create job announcements to attract largest possible pool of diversely qualified applicants.
  • Weekly - 10%: Prepares metrics to measure success and provides weekly status summarizing recruitment and sourcing activities.
  • Monthly - 5%: Conducts search committee chargings for Administrator and Faculty positions in accordance with the recruitment policy.
  • As Needed - 5%: Assists with the classroom training of hiring managers and assistants with navigating the Human Capital Management (HCM) Recruiting module.
  • As Needed - 5%: Administers the typing and Nelson Denny Tests for positions that require these minimum qualifications.
  • Other - 5%: Assists in developing, coordinating, and recommending changes for the improvement of work processes. 
  • As Needed - 5%: Tests new updates and modifications as required to the HCM system.
  • Other - 5%: Performs related duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations as they relate to Human Resources (i.e. recruiting and employment).
  • Knowledge of institutional HR policies and procedures.
  • Must have good analytical and research skills.
