Procurement and Business Services provides assistance involving the purchasing activities of the University, including all purchasing functions in the financial system, plus training and system issues. The department also reviews and approves most contractual issues.

Essential Job Duties
This position provides administrative support for Campus Enterprises and Procurement and Business Services Office. 
This position is the first contact for internal and external visitors; respond to phone and in-person inquiries and have a friendly and easy-going demeanor while also being proactive and professional.
Primary responsibilities may include but not limited to, customer service, hospitality, maintain and order office supplies, distribute and process incoming/outgoing, and intercampus mail, answer phones, and assist in special events and special projects. 
This position is also responsible for filing, sorting, data input, and requests for finance and business management. Assist with facility operations planning repairs, customer requests, and minor record keeping. Assist with human resources requests and backup administration services. 
This position will work with the Procurement and Business Services Office distributing P-cards with attention to security issues.

  • Understand the goals and culture of the organization, and understand how employees’ work activities, teamwork, and customer service impact clients. Work with your supervisor and colleagues to understand these goals and the culture.
  • Adhere to all University policies, procedures, and regulations, and Division standard operating practices and protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the Division of Campus Enterprises and the Procurement and Business Services Office business needs are met.

Qualifications


Minimum Experience/Education
High School Diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Other Required Qualifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with customers, peers and supervisors; and professionally communicate with multiple levels of employees within the University.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, including the ability to remain professional and respectful under pressure when dealing with difficult situations, to team and customers.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to understand and resolve minor problems.
  • Must have the ability to work under pressure with heavy work loads prior to semester openings and during season peaks.
  • Able to multitask.
  • High level of attention to detail and provide accuracy.
  • Proficiency with computers, especially email, word processing and spreadsheet (Google or Microsoft)
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Requires bending, twisting, pulling and pushing.
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds above head and up to 60 pounds on rare occasions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
