The Ohio State University College of Dentistry seeks a Receiving and Distribution Assistant to join the patient care team in Clinic Administration to support the dental clinics. The Colleges Dispensing Unit in Clinic Administration is an important function in the health care delivery system. The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is the fourth largest public dental school in the United States and it is the only public dental school in Ohio. The college is divided into ten divisions with all major ADA-recognized dental specialties represented. The College has approximately 600 students in its undergraduate and graduate programs.

The Receiving and Distribution Assistant will be responsible for providing support to Instrument Management Services / Shipping & Receiving unit within the CoD including supply acquisition, inventory control, and some maintenance of equipment and instruments including the supply par levels to insure availability and prevent overstock. Serves as liaison between departments in regards to supplies and equipment utilized, and prepares weekly and monthly reports inventory reports. The Receiving and Distribution Assistant is responsible for managing the supply and inventory process for the Colleges units including ordering and tracking inventory, maintaining the student clinics and labs.

The Receiving and Distribution Assistant will be responsible for maintaining equipment, stocking the student clinics, receiving packages/mail through our Shipping and Receiving room and maintaining a clean storage area. Heat Sealing, Delivering Packages, Sorting Mail.

Schedule

Monday-Friday 12:00pm-9:00pm.

Position Requirements

This position requires successful completion of background check(s) and drug & alcohol screening.

Pay

$15.00 - $17.62

Candidate must be able to: work nights and/or weekends as needed for college events; be capable of frequently lifting/pulling/pushing up to 70lbs, bending/twisting/turning/reaching below knees and above shoulders on a regular basis; standing/sitting/walking for periods of time. Candidate must have the use of both hands; Other specific requirements include excellent hand-eye coordination, visual acuity and communication/language development. Individuals in this position may be exposed to the following: chemical hazards (skin irritants).

Minimum Education Required HS Graduate or Equivalent Required.

Desired Experience - Two years’ experience in inventory control, record-keeping procedure, safety practices, using a personal computer and Microsoft Office to generate a variety of materials ranging from basic to complex. Two years’ experience in a customer service setting; excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written; ability to consistently contribute to and work within a fast –paced team environment.
