Rapid Resp Team Mbr (sr)

Senior member of Facilities Services Rapid Response Team for handling rapidly developing situations on campus. Works in close correlation with the Supervisor of Transfer & Hauling Position 50135291 a unit within the Facilities Services Rapid Response Department that is responsible for all the moving of furniture and equipment, picking up surplus materials, and set-ups/ take downs for special events conducted on both the UT Knoxville and Agricultural campus. This position serves as the substitute for the Supervisor of the Transfer & Hauling unit and is responsible for supervising, administering, and coordinating all transfer, hauling, set-up, and take down service functions for these campuses in the event of their absence. This position also will assist in overseeing the daily operation of the unit, including workload assignments/ progressing/ and redirection/customer communication and correspondence as necessary. This position will assist in the responsibility for hiring of personnel within the unit and for related personnel actions including performance evaluations, recommendations for merit or promotions, and disciplinary actions. The position will serve as the team lead to assist the supervisor ensuring the work is performed as scheduled and within compliance with applicable safety standards and operating policies. This is accomplished either through providing work direction in terms of work details or by providing guidance to those assigned to work task. This position is also responsible for helping track that personnel are properly trained to operate equipment used in the accomplishment of the work effort.

 



Qualifications

 

Job Function/Responsibilities:

  • Communication with “customers,” supervisors, coworkers,scheduling with customer and developing action plans for the team.
  • Technical analysis and troubleshooting
  • Labor to accomplish daily goals
  • Travel, record keeping and maintenance of tools and equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Very good technical/troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills. Experience in one or more “skilled craft” (i.e. Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, etc.).
  • Excellent customer service skills, basic computer knowledge of the present work order system, email, and emailing correspondence.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability to “cross-train”
  • CDL License

Required level/type of experience and/or years of experience:

  • 5 Years of experience in rapid response or transferring and hauling.
