The Radiation Therapy Program at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota, invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE) ranked faculty position on a 9-over 12- month professional practice contract. This faculty member will also hold the role of Program Director for Radiation Therapy. Individuals interested in remote employment may pursue this role if they live in any of the following states: AR, CA, CO, DE, FL, IL, IN, MD, MA, MI, MS, NC, NY, OR, PA, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, DC, WI.
This faculty member will teach the equivalent of six courses (24 credits) a year. The The Radiation Therapy program is a bachelor’s degree program within the College for Adults (CfA). St. Kate’s can enroll up to 14 students in each year-long cohort. The program is offered entirely online, and there is one other full-time faculty member who also serves as the clinical coordinator.
Search Process
The position will remain open until filled with a priority deadline of Monday, September 21, 2026. Selected candidates will participate in an online interview with the search committee, and two to four individuals will then be selected for a longer virtual interview. This will include meetings with various university partners, a teaching and vision presentation, and interviews with the committee and dean. The goal is for the new program director to begin on November 30, 2026.
Program Director Role
Program directors have several additional responsibilities beyond teaching:
Curriculum Management and Accreditation
  • Lead, compile, and submit accreditation materials to the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), including annual reports and program changes
  • Lead assessment of student learning and programmatic effectiveness process


Faculty Staffing and Oversight
  • Recruit, evaluate, and recommend faculty for hire to ensure adequate program and course staffing
  • Support faculty in university evaluation processes for contract renewal and promotion

Academic Program Administration
  • Create and manage the schedule of courses
  • Lead the student application process
  • Learn and utilize various internal university tools and systems to ensure effective program delivery

Working Environment and Expectations
The selected candidate can work completely remote, from any of the states listed above. Currently, the program offers live virtual sessions for students on Wednesdays between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm (CST). However, faculty, with university support, are moving to an asynchronous learning format with an implementation goal of fall 2028. Additionally, the program director will need to attend approximately 3 to 5 hours of meetings each week, scheduled between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm (CST), plus another 2 hours of meetings per week that they schedule and lead during these times.
Most work will be deadline-driven and require self-direction and prioritization. This will include grading, course preparation, university service, and program director responsibilities. As a Professional Practice faculty member, individuals can pursue, with the Dean’s approval, practice within the field of Radiation Therapy.
Program Information
The Program Director will work closely with the program’s other faculty member who also holds the Clinical Coordinator role. Students in the program currently complete their required clinical experiences at hospitals and clinics within the Twin Cities. Across the institution, there is an effort to explore growth opportunities. Applicants who can embrace this mindset and help to identify opportunities to leverage the online nature of this program and bring the degree to students outside of the Twin Cities are encouraged to apply. Program growth will likely require additional adjunct or potential full-time faculty.
The Radiation Therapy program at St. Kate’s has a long-standing tradition of excellence. Students progress through the program, pass their certification exam on their first attempt, and secure jobs at rates routinely above 90%. The program is accredited through the JRCERT, and its next scheduled accreditation review is in 2029.
The program is part of the Henrietta Schmoll School of Health Sciences (HSSHS). With 18 degree programs and approximately 100 faculty, the HSSHS is the largest of St. Kate’s three schools. Degrees are offered to students at all levels, from the associate to the doctoral level. A key distinguishing factor is the school’s programs’ shared focus on ecological approaches to health, intercultural competency, and interprofessional collaboration. Faculty and staff will find ample opportunities for support for teaching, professional practice, and scholarly activities. The Institute of Simulation and Interprofessional Learning (I-SAIL) provides resources and expertise to support developing and implementing high-impact educational activities within HSSHS and the School of Nursing. The St. Kate’s Teaching Hub offers resources and a platform for teaching and scholarly activities that foster pedagogical innovation and student success. The Hub supports faculty and staff by providing professional development opportunities and a forum for learning and exchange on issues at the forefront of higher education. Additionally, St. Kate’s has a growing academic technology team that offers training and support to faculty members who teach online.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Proficient in curriculum design, evaluation, instruction, program administration, and academic advising;
  • 3 years of clinical experience in the professional discipline;
  • 2 years of experience as an instructor in a JRCERT-accredited program;
  • Holds current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification and registration, or equivalent, in radiation therapy.
  • Master’s degree
    • Individuals who do not have a master’s degree may apply but must complete a master’s degree within the first 3 years of employment. The institution will provide tuition remission for St. Kate’s graduate programs , including the online MBA Program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Clinical Coordinator or Program Director experience
  • Experience teaching online
  • Clinical or professional organization leadership experience

Compensation:
Annual wage is $67,281 – $85,312depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary range listed reflects a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably anticipate to pay for this position, based on market data and internal equity, at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and other relevant factors. St. Catherine reserves the right to modify or adjust compensation depending on University needs.
