Radiology Spec Tech I- PRN

Job Summary:

Position possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the standards for professional practice in accordance with ARRT. Practice is characterized by a balance of dependent and interdependent decision making. Position competently functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team.

Major Responsibilities / Duties / Critical Tasks:

·         Responsible for providing technical expertise in performance of diagnostic radiology and CT procedures.

·         Operates Radiologic equipment for image production and documentation of images. Performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images and prepares patients’ images for interpretation by radiologist.

·         Provides guidance and direction to other radiologic personnel when required.

·         Accountable for the identification and reduction of unsafe practices that could harm patients.

·         Other duties as assigned.       

Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

·         Ability to navigate EPIC and Pacs

·         Competent in required radiologic exams per ordering physician requirements. 

·         Skilled in direct patient care.

·         Ability to communicate with patients and families regarding exams.

Required Education / Experience:

·         Graduate from an Accredited School with degree in Radiologic Technology

Required Certification / Licenses:

·         Licensed through ARRT for Radiology, and preferred CT

·         Licensed through the Texas Medical Board

·         Current on CPR/Heartsaver Certification
