Radiologic Technologist, Student Health and Wellness

The Department of Student Health and Wellness seeks applications for a full-time, benefitted position (40 hours per week) Diagnostic Radiologic Technician to perform plain films in its brand-new state of the art facility. 

This is a unique employment opportunity to work with university student patients who typically require chest and/or extremity plain films for injury or illness. This position will be responsible for performing screening and diagnostic plain films to ensure the production of quality images for interpretation by the Radiologist. In addition to radiology duties, radiology tech will also float to other clinical areas when assigned to cover other duties. Other duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Checking in patients at medical services reception desk
  • Running samples for point-of-care testing and reporting results in EMR.
  • Obtaining reports and uploading to EMR.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
     

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Associate's Degree in Radiography or a graduate of an accredited program.
Experience: Minimum of one year experience as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist
Licensure: Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T.) required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. Active Virginia radiology technologist license required. Valid Virginia Driver’s License (VADL) may be required.

The hiring range for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The selected candidate will pass a criminal background check and health and drug screen. This position will not sponsor applicants for work visas. This is a full-time, 40 hours/week position eligible for UVA benefits .

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping and traveling, reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive); Repetitive motion: (computer keyboard).
