Position Description:

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine is seeking applications for a clinical track faculty physician.  The position will be at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor, on the clinical (non-tenure) track. This position is suited for a dedicated and highly qualified radiation oncologist to join our team in providing exceptional clinical care in a community practice located in Bettendorf, Iowa. This practice is integrated within the University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center with onsite medical oncology services.  The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Iowa provides physics support, radiation therapists, nursing, and support staff.


The practice participates in weekly quality assurance chart rounds with other affiliated sites as well as with practitioners at our main site in Iowa City.  Conferences are remotely accessible. Equipment includes a Varian 21iX linear accelerator that went live in 2012, a Phillips Big Bore CT scanner, a Topic SRT100 Superficial with 50/70/100 kVp energies, and the Mosaiq oncology management system. Treatment planning is conducted with the Philips Pinnacle system. Capabilities include 3D-conformal radiotherapy, electron therapy, kV cone-beam CT, intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), 4D-CT, superficial, and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) treatments. The SBRT and superficial programs provide the opportunity to treat more local patients, improving access to care for the community.

Education Requirement:

Applicants must have an M.D., D.O., or appropriate degree and must have at least four years of residency training in Radiation Oncology.

Certifications:

Must be board certified or eligible by the American Board of Radiology-Radiation Oncology. 

Desirable Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience working in an inclusive environment is desired.
