The Manager 1, Radiation Therapy, Program Director is responsible for the program administration and the didactic and clinical education of students in the Bachelor of Science in Radiation Therapy Education Program within The Ohio State University’s School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (SHRS) and the James Cancer Hospital. The position requires strong leadership, organizational and administrative skills. The Manager 1, Radiation Therapy, Program Director oversees the didactic faculty and students; develops and maintains SHRS and Radiologic Sciences and Therapy policies and procedures; measures and evaluates program outcomes; maintains JRCERT Programmatic Accreditation and implements the professional curriculum. They will create and develop new teaching methods and techniques to be implemented in the program and the department. Prepares and presents presentations and in-services for department staff and students. Provide professional expertise in the various committees within SHRS and the Department of Radiation Oncology. Oversee the Clinical Coordinator duties in clinical education and teaching development and lab techniques. Guide the Clinical Preceptors in instruction and assessment of student’s clinical rotations. Ensures compliance with quality control and radiation safety standards. Participates in the department in developing long and short-term goals, policies and procedures, and standards of patient care. Assists in formulating annual budgets for program operations. Assumes the leadership role in the continued development of the program.

Position Summary
The Manager 1, Radiation Therapy, Program Director is responsible for the administration of the Bachelor of Science educational program, developing faculty and staff, developing, and providing didactic and clinical courses, advising students in their academic program, and providing professional student counseling, The program director works with the department to maintain Radiation Safety and Quality Control as well as assisting the department with administrative duties.
Minimum Qualifications
For Hire: MS Degree and completion of a JRCERT approved school of radiation therapy; registered by the ARRT, licensed by ODH, considerable technical and administrative experience in Radiation Therapy. Two year teaching experience and curriculum development. Three years full time experience in Radiation Oncology.
Ongoing: Maintains registry status; meets mandatory education and health surveillance requirement. Demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions. Maintains current knowledge of the profession.
