Qualitative Research Associate - Population Health

Summary:

Work with faculty investigators and multi-site team on a study to enhance primary care practice capacity for cancer survivorship care in community health clinics in Texas. Assist investigators with all aspects of study set-up and execution. Assist with qualitative data collection material development and modifications. Take a lead role in qualitative data collection, data management and analysis. Ensure quality assurance. Contribute to development of study protocols, research report and manuscript writing.

Job Description:

Required Qualifications

Education: Master's degree in anthropology, sociology, or other socio-behavioral field

Work Experience:

  • Experience in qualitative research methods and data analysis.
  • Experience working with qualitative analysis software, e.g. DeDoose, Nvivo, Atlas.ti

Preferred Qualifications

Work Experience:

  • Knowledge of social service and/or healthcare delivery, especially primary care
  • Experience working in collaborative, team environment.

Skills:


  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language would be an advantage but is not required.

Job Duties Outlined:


  • Work with faculty investigators on design and development of protocols, qualitative data collection instruments, and intervention materials.
  • Collaborate in development, writing and proof-reading of human subject protections and other research documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential study records, including tracking participants and ensure timely recordkeeping, per applicable regulations.
  • Assist with remote participant recruitment, screening, informed consent and enrollment.
  • Conduct research participant surveys and semi-structured interviews, including patients (telephone, internet-based i.e. Zoom, in-person)
  • Collaborate on design of qualitative analytic plan, conduct coding, generate coding reports.
  • Perform literature searches for PI and collaborate on manuscript development and writing.
  • Complete research administrative duties such as filing, copying, and data entry.
  • Some sponsored travel within Kansas and Texas,
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation Statement:

The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
