Job Summary:

The Assistant Dean of Curriculum (ADoC), reporting to the Executive Director of Curriculum, is their designated school's primary authority on curriculum matters. The role encompasses defining, creating, overseeing, updating, and ensuring the quality of all courses and academic programs within the assigned school. The ADoC leads and manages the curriculum team, overseeing projects, assessments, and all facets of curriculum development.

The ADoC also engages in data-driven decision-making, leveraging established performance metrics to evaluate and enhance every aspect of curriculum operations, services, and team performance, promoting continual improvement across the University's curriculum. This role also involves ensuring adherence to specific accreditation and licensing standards.

In collaboration with the school Dean, the ADoC aligns and integrates curriculum initiatives, ensuring a cohesive and comprehensive educational strategy.


What to expect in this role:

Curriculum Development & Management:

  • Manages the creation, assessment, and continuous improvement of degree programs and curricula for the designated school.
  • Leads and inspires a diverse team, including curriculum managers, subject matter experts, course leaders, and consultants, in developing, updating, and maintaining courses.
  • Works in partnership with deans, academic chairs, and faculty to formulate, assess, and maintain degree plans and academic curricula.
  • Oversees draft course materials, ensuring they meet quality standards and fulfill contractual obligations.

Data Analysis & Performance Monitoring:

  • Manages and interprets all data on curriculum effectiveness, encompassing learning outcomes, survey feedback, and student retention statistics. This role involves tracking and enhancing performance to achieve or surpass the program's targeted outcomes.
  • Oversees course assessment procedures, ensuring alignment with and adherence to the University's overall assessment strategy.

Cost Management & Tracking:

  • Oversees and documents all associated material expenses, ensuring effective management of overall costs.
  • Monitors and controls expenses associated with creating and updating courses and their corresponding materials.

Committee & Compliance:

  • Coordinates with the Faculty Curriculum Committee to ensure course content adheres to the committee's oversight and compliance standards.
  • Interacts with the Advisory Board to ensure compliance with specific accreditation and licensing requirements.

What we're looking for:
  • Master’s Degree (M.A/M.S) in education, curriculum development, instructional design, or related area. Doctorate Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in curriculum, program development, higher education, or related area.
  • Spearheads project management initiatives in a dynamic and expanding organization.
  • Leads and motivates their team, offering training, supervision, and evaluation to staff, faculty, and employees.
  • Analyzes situations quickly and effectively, resolving issues and providing recommendations when necessary.
  • Operates autonomously, efficiently managing time and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborates seamlessly across multicultural settings with various teams, departments, and Schools.
  • Communicates proficiently (both written and orally), demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor with individuals at all organizational levels and from diverse backgrounds.
  • Manages sensitive and confidential information with utmost discretion.
  • Demonstrates exceptional organizational and teamwork abilities.
  • “Power User” of Google Suite applications (Mail, Calendar, Documents, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Meet, etc.) and Learning Management Systems, including Brightspace.
  •  Applies knowledge of Web 2.0 and 3.0 technologies in professional settings.

Additional Information:

  • This is a remote position; no relocation required. Candidates must be based in and legally authorized to work in the United States.
