Position Summary:
UCI's Department of Family Medicine is the academic home to faculty, residents and staff who have a passion for patient care, medical education, scholarship, and community health. Under the general supervision of the Senior Finance Analyst, this position coordinates, audits and processes procurement, travel, and reimbursement requests. Ensures compliance with all University purchasing and financial policies and procedures; independently researches and provides information and options to faculty and departmental personnel. Processes low-value purchase orders, high value requisitions and other types of purchases as required. Responsible for reimbursements involving payment to vendors for miscellaneous expenditures or department events. Facilitates requests from individuals within the department and maintains excellent communication with faculty, residents, administration and external agencies and/or vendors.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $27.34 - $29.23 (Hourly Rate). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $26.92 - $46.36 (Hourly Rate).

Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience.
  • Experience with UC policies and procedures preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
  • Working knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.
  • Ability to gather reasonably retrievable information to organize and perform basic financial analysis assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated ability using spreadsheet and database software for moderately complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports; proficient in the use of Excel; working knowledge of common organization-specific programs.
  • Good organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and multi-task with demanding timeframes and frequent interruptions, and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of privileged information.

Preferred:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Skill to create and maintain tracking systems to manage a large volume of information.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and UC regulations governing research activity.
