Summary of Job Duties:

The Public Safety Officer is responsible for the enforcement of traffic and criminal laws and parking regulations. This position is governed by law enforcement standards, state and federal laws, and agency policy. Preferred Certified Law Enforcement Instructor and Certified Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor.

Qualifications:

Applicant must be 21 years old and must not have been arrested /convicted of a felony or domestic battery. Applicant must be a high school graduate or possess a GED. Applicant must be able to pass a physically and a physiological examination before employment. They must also be able to pass a firearms qualification course and attend and pass the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy within one year while they are employed by UAPTC.

Preferred qualifications: 2 years of college, ALETA Certified and Must be a Certified Law Enforcement Instructor and Certified Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor and have a minimum of 10 years of Law Enforcement experience.
