Job Summary:

The part-time Recording Studio Manager in the Center for Performing and Cinematic Arts (CPCA) and Boyer College of Music and Dance will train student workers on recording practices/projects, schedule music recording events, and manage student workers in recording/livestreaming of student and faculty recitals. Oversees and supervises student recordings in the recording studio and other performance venues. Maintains recording equipment in the recording studio and recording spaces in Rock and Presser Recital Halls. Assists with large ensemble recording sessions as necessary. Manages and maintains the Boyer College music recording archives and assists with other studio, recording and livestreaming projects as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience in music technology, recording arts, or a related field.  Experience with Pro Tools, Ableton, Logic, Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere, other industry standard software. Strong studio and live recording experience. Demonstrated experience with audio and video related software and hardware. Experience with equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Essential Functions of Position:

  •   Trains student workers on recording practices/projects
  •  Schedules music recording events/projects
  • Oversees and supervises student music recording events in the Presser recording studio and/or other recording spaces/venues
  • Maintains recording equipment as needed
  • Assists with large ensemble music recordings as needed
  • Manages Boyer College music recording archives.
  • Assists with any other studio/recording/livestreaming projects as needed.
