Ohio Wesleyan University (OWU) is a selective, private, undergraduate liberal arts, residential institution founded in 1842 and located just 20 miles north of Columbus.

The Department of Sociology/Anthropology at OWU is looking for a Part-time Instructor for Fall 2024:

  • If a candidate is interested, there will also be an opportunity to teach other upper-level electives in Spring 2025

The pay is $5,000 per course.

  • teach small classes (usually less than 19 students per class);
  • have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues through our interdisciplinary Social Justice major;
  • be mentored and trained by the Chair of the Department (Vanessa Hildebrand);
  • have access to optional faculty development opportunities outside the department;
  • have your own office space for use when you're on campus; and,
  • receive a free parking pass that allows you to park anywhere on campus.

Interested candidates should send a Cover Letter indicating your interest in the position, a current C.V. (including three professional references), and evidence of teaching effectiveness to Dr. Paul Dean ([email protected]).

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, beginning May 31.
