About this Opportunity
The Department of Special Education welcomes applications for a Part-Time Administrative Assistant. The assistant will support a faculty member in accomplishing their teaching, scholarly, and service goals by providing technological, research, editorial, and administrative support using technologies related to visual impairment.

Position Function
Provide administrative support to the faculty member in accomplishing their teaching, scholarly, and service goals by providing technological, research, editorial, and administrative support using technologies related to visual impairment.
Minimum Education
Associate’s degree or an additional two years of related experience will be accepted in lieu of an associate’s degree.
Minimum Experience
One year of related experience.
Minimum Other
Familiarity with and/or willingness to learn current and emergent technologies related to visual impairment, possess a strong command of the English language and use of APA style grammar guidelines, and the ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office applications.
Must be able to follow directions, problem solve, manage time effectively, prioritize activities based on deadlines, accept feedback, work independently, adjust to change, and multi-task.
Authorization to work in the US Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with specialized equipment and technology, such as:
Duxbury Braille Translator software
BrailleNote Touch Plus
Swell Form Graphics Machine
