UW MEDICAL CTR. - REHABILITATION, NEUROLOGY CLINIC has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time, day shift, PSYCHOMETRIST 2.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under general direction provided by neuropsychologist, administer and score psychological tests. Assess client's or subject's response to test conditions and adapt testing procedures with consultation with neuropsychologist as necessary.  Administer and score standardized and specialized tests.

Typical Work:
- Administers, and scores psychological tests; evaluates behavior of individuals being tested, recommends addition or deletion of tests.
- Troubleshoots difficult testing situations.  Administers tests that are not in the general adult testing battery.
- Administers and assists with the evaluation of experimental tests; conducts literature search to assist in determining suitable testing methods.
- Develops instructional manuals, patient education, etc
- May assist in instruction of students, interns and other staff in use of tests and testing procedures as assigned by Lead or Manager.
- Coordinates testing schedule.  Communicates with management when volumes low or access limited.
- Performs duties of Psychometrist 1.
- Performs related duties as required.

Standards of Performance:
- Applies appropriate policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of practice in performing clinical duties and evaluates own practice in relation to these.
- Demonstrates critical thinking in daily practice.  Recognizes and alerts neuropsychologist when there are complications with patient testing.
- Contributes to the establishment and implementation of goals for the unit through staff meetings and other activities.
- May assist with clinical projects as assigned by Supervisor.
- Follows UW Medicine Service Culture guidelines in all aspects of work.
- Performs related duties as required.

Safe and Effective Care:
- Demonstrates skill in administering full battery of neuropsychometry testing to a complex patient population using standardized procedures.
- Participates in the Quality Assurance program by identifying areas for investigation; assists in data collection, monitoring, and the development and implementation of corrective actions.
- Collaborates with other team members to assure continuity of patient care and to meet patient care needs.
- May act as a clinical resource to health care team members.
- Demonstrates infection control practices including hand hygiene.

- Demonstrates awareness of and functions within PCS policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Seeks consultation when patient care needs exceed own level of experience.
- Follows UW Medicine Service Culture guidelines in all aspects of work.
- Demonstrates awareness of and functions within safety, infection control, emergency, and equipment guidelines.
- Meets attendance standard.
- Ensures mandatory certification and training competencies are completed within initial time frame.
- Consistently wears identification badge per hospital policy.
- Is responsible for remaining current with information disseminated through email, voice mail, memorandums, and posted notices.

REQUIREMENTS:
- A Master's Degree with major study in psychology or a closely related field with emphasis in tests and measurement
OR
- a Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral or social science AND two years of experience in psychological testing
OR
- two years of experience as a Psychometrist I
OR
- equivalent education/experience.
