Job Summary: The Capstone Center for Student Success seeks knowledgeable and energetic undergraduate students to tutor PY 211.


Additional Department Summary: Peer Tutors are not hired as experts, but to help students better understand academic concepts while benefiting in the following areas.

  • Flexible work schedule with a pay rate of $10.00 an hour

Required Minimum Qualifications: Current University of Alabama undergraduate student with a minimum 3.33 GPA.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have earned a grade of A-, A, or A+ at The University of Alabama in PY 211.


Skills and Knowledge: Must have strong knowledge of subject area tutored. Must be able to explain fundamental concepts of relevant course(s) to students. Must be comfortable using Zoom. Must have strong written and oral communication skills.

Enrollment Requirements: Applicants must meet enrollment requirements to be eligible for on-campus student employment. Applicants must be enrolled in a UA degree program and meet minimum credit hour requirements during the academic year: Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; Graduate Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters. Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment. Individual hiring departments and programs may also have additional eligibility requirements for employment.
