Psychology Grant Project Coordinator/Research Assistant

Updated: 3 months ago
Location: Hammond, INDIANA

This position is Part-time anticipated to work 10 - 19 hours weekly.  Benefits do not apply.

The Purdue University Northwest Psychology Department was recently awarded a 5-year, large scale clinical services grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), an agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Unprecedented in terms of size and scope at PNW, this grant project has the potential to positively impact hundreds of Northwest Indiana’s most vulnerable youth and families by partnering with local pediatric healthcare providers to increase and enhance child trauma prevention and intervention efforts. Accordingly, we seek a reliable, driven, and extremely organized Project Coordinator to successfully launch these efforts.

The Project Coordinator will work within the Purdue University Northwest Psychology Department and will directly report to the Principal Investigator/Project Director of the study. This position is ideal for individuals looking for a part-time opportunity to gain in-depth experience and mentoring in interdisciplinary applied research, integrated clinical care, and trauma-focused prevention and intervention services.

Primarily remote position, with periodic in-person meetings and trainings in Northwest Indiana (e.g., Hammond, Valparaiso, Michigan City, Westville, etc.).  Work hours are somewhat flexible, once weekly and monthly meeting schedules have been established.  Travel by car to periodic off-site trainings, rotating community partner site meetings, and data collection sites will also be required.
