Description

 

Full-time, non-tenure track, clinician-educator faculty position. Academic rank at the time of appointment shall be commensurate with experience and credentials.

The primary role will be as a Psychologist in Department of Pediatrics. The successful applicant will have clinical, educational, research and community service duties within this role that are defined through agreement with the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics. 

Primary supervisory responsibilities include

  • Clinical service at Le Bonheur hospital inpatient and outpatient settings in divisions as assigned and
  • Teaching trainees which may include those in medical, psychology, and related professions.

General expectations of the appointment are proposed as follows:

  • Clinical Care  (60% effort): Primary responsibilities include direct service provision including consultation with other professionals.
  • Education and Training  (30% effort): Responsibilities include training and may include clinical supervision of psychology trainees in the context of clinical and training programs in which you participate. The Department supports your efforts in curriculum and program development in the variety of settings that are associated with the Division.
  • Service (5% effort): The Department is supportive of your community leadership and advocacy roles.
  • Research and Scholarly Activities  (5% effort): The Department is supportive of your contributions to scholarly activity, including research. Other academic obligations include participation in department and division teaching conferences and serving on university and other committees as directed by the Chair of Pediatrics.

Basic Qualifications: 

Requires an PhD or equivalent degree. The applicant should be licensed or license-eligible in Tennessee as a Psychologist, Health Service Provider and will be expected to be board-certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology after eligibility.

Departmental Preferences: 

Experience and skill in psychological assessment and consultation required. Experience in a hospital setting required. Skills and experience required in developmental assessment (including for autism spectrum disorder), for children across a wide age range. Skills and experience required in working with children and adolescents with complex and chronic medical conditions.
