Job Summary
This staff psychologist position is a generalist position focused on providing counseling and therapy services to students as well as providing outreach programming on a variety of topics relevant to college student adjustment, mental health and well-being. Specific expertise in a variety of areas related to college students is encouraged and welcomed. Recently, the University of Kentucky Counseling Center (UKCC) has had an embedded clinician in the College of Medicine. There may be other opportunities to do this type of embedded work with various colleges or specific campus populations. This Psychologist Staff II position provides UK students direct psychological services and programming in the areas of personal concerns, academic success, and career exploration/decision-making, as well as providing outreach, crisis intervention, and consultation services. These functions support the Center and University mission of retention and the success of our students. Candidates must have completed ALL requirements for the PhD or PsyD or EdD in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or other applied psychology (including all coursework, the dissertation defense, final dissertation submission, and internship) by the start date, and be eligible for temporary license as a Psychologist in Kentucky.

Our Counseling Center seeks individuals who are collaborative in nature, have strong communication skills, practice good self-care, maintain healthy boundaries, and possess the ability to manage a challenging workload while promoting a positive atmosphere and healthy relationships. No post-doctoral experience is required (though it is preferred).
