Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati, Counseling & Psychological Services is seeking (4) four culturally sensitive and informed interns for our doctoral internship training program.  We are a vibrant, interdisciplinary team of individuals who provide culturally informed therapy to our diverse body of undergraduate and graduate students.  We provide both individual and group therapy, single-session consultation appointments, and outreach to our UC community.  A successful candidate for our internship will have strong general therapy skills, self-awareness and self-curiosity, interest and/or experience providing culturally informed services, as well as a clear commitment to supporting students from all dimensions of diversity and intersecting identities.


Essential Functions
  • Perform various duties for a specific department, program, or division at the University of Cincinnati. 
  • The internship is an on-the-job training program designed to provide the individual with experience in a selected field and/or within a specific area of interest.  

Minimum Requirements
  • Significant academic coursework and progress toward an applicable degree
  • Skill in the use of personal computer and related software applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to use independent judgement and to manage and impart information

Additional Qualifications Considered
  • Enrolled in Doctoral Program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA accredited program
  • Completion of all academic coursework for the doctoral degree.
  • Experience providing brief individual therapy to international, historically underrepresented, and/or underserved college populations.
  • Dissertation scheduled for defense before internship year.
  • Good interpersonal skills, team-oriented, and desire to collaborate in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • The ability to manage the professional demands of a challenging caseload while maintaining good self-care and positive and healthy perspectives.
