The University of Washington Counseling Center provides a safe environment to help UW students explore the challenges of life and learning through mental health counseling, preventive programming, advocacy, and consultation. The Center seeks a full-time Psychiatry Care Coordinator (Program Coordinator (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv)) to provide clerical support and clinical coordination for UW students receiving mental health services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Care Coordination: Correspond with students, referring providers and outside agencies at the direction of center clinicians.  Track incoming and outgoing psychiatry referrals.  Manage waitlist and provider scheduling. When due for a follow-up with provider, schedule patient for appointment. Document patient prescription refill requests, and direct them to the pharmacy or to the provider.

Patient Records and Data Management: Determining student eligibility for psychiatry services.  Obtain records from previous providers as needed.  Responsible for all aspects of the prior authorization process.  Comply with privacy and confidentiality rules as required by state and federal laws.

Backup for Front Desk Reception: Answer phone and greet students/visitors to the center with the highest standards of customer service. Coordinate effectively with other support staff in managing breaks and providing coverage during planned or unplanned front desk absences. Anticipate supplies needed and order.  Check email, fax, and patient communications. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of work experience in a healthcare/mental health setting or working with college students/clients in distress OR equivalent education/experience.
