Harding Hospital’s Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) team is a multi-disciplinary team of professionals who facilitates access to Psychiatric Services on a 24-hour basis. As a Harding service embedded in the Emergency Departments, PES provides comprehensive mental health & substance use evaluations, crisis assessments, and short-term psychotherapy to patients presenting with psychiatric emergencies. Our team assists patients & families with links to inpatient, partial, and outpatient services for adults through Harding Hospital and other services in the community.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling or related field; Ohio license to practice (i.e., LSW or LPC) is required. Eligibility for future independent licensure (LISW) required.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of Pre or Post-Master’s training and experience in working with patients with mental illness and/or substance disorders is also required. Experience via an internship prior to completing Master’s level education may be considered.
  • Experience with completing mental health & crisis assessments, case-management, and conducting evidenced based psychosocial interventions preferred.
  • Must be willing to work some weekends and holidays.
