Job Summary

The PSSG Program Director will manage, direct, and facilitate all aspects related to the U. S. Department of Education Post Secondary Success Education. This includes grant finances, employee oversight, external partnerships, and programming. This position will also work closely with faculty, academic support areas, academic advising, and other SSE departments.


Essential Duties

Day to Day Supervision of grants team and grant which includes recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees as well as coaching, counseling, and discipline said employees while leading the team to accomplish grant objectives by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

Working with Institutional Research, Reporting & Analytics, to use statistical tools to identify, analyze, interpret patterns and trends in data sets related to the grant project. Prepare reports for management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data. Prepare final reports to be delivered to the U.S. Department of Education.

Develop and maintain an accurate record-keeping system for both involved financials and grant project in general. Ensure financial decisions and all records adhere to grant requirements.

Oversee staff and/or organize facilities and manage event details including location, invitees, equipment, speakers, etc. Specify staff requirements and coordinate activities. Coordinate with Marketing & Communications to promote and publicize events. Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems. Conduct pre- and post- event evaluations and report on outcomes.

Collaborating with stake holders including faculty, advisors, etc. Communicating with all involved parties to gather information and help the opposing parties work through their differences. Sort through needs and concerns of all parties keeping student focus as primary. Helping parties find common ground and reach a solution that will work best for student needs.


Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree master’s degree in education, educational psychology, instructional psychology, social sciences, or a related field.

Three years Supervisory experience.

Ability to supervise and coordinate personnel and programming.

Ability to work effectively as a team member.

Experience in personnel, budget, and project management.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Philosophy compatible with that of a comprehensive urban community college.


Preferred Qualifications

Classroom teaching experience.

Work experience in a higher education academic environment.

Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders to solve complex problems effectively.

Experience in working with student assessment and counseling.

Experience in doing research with human subjects.
