Job Summary

Provide individual counseling services for students, staff, and faculty. Provide co-facilitation for one evening support group. Engage in case management for all clients including case management requested by other counselors on staff. Monitor wait list with counseling coordinator and address initial contacts and intakes in a timely manner. Clinical consultation with other counseling staff as needed.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions
1. Provides counseling for individual clients, establishes goals for areas of change, assists clients to feel empowered to handle needed change and identifies whether progress is being made, or if a referral is required.
2. Facilitates and provides group counseling for women and femme identified persons, creating an environment where members learn how to work together, sharing concerns, addressing specific issues, and creating strong cohesion and community within the group.
3. Completes and maintains appropriate counseling records in Titanium database pertaining to counseling sessions with clients, their progress, goals met, and hours spent.
4. Maintaining scheduled office hours from 8am to 5pm, with flex to compensate for evening group.
5. Must have a strong feminist perspective in counseling theory and be committed to an empowerment model based in sociopolitical analysis as well as client coping skills and their contexts.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited school by the council on Social Work; current licensure to practice as a Certified Social Worker in the State of Utah. Demonstrated human relations and effective verbal and written communication skills; and proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, problem solve and resolve conflicts for individuals, couples and groups.

Departmental Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited school by the council on Social Work; current licensure to practice as a Certified Social Worker in the State of Utah.

Demonstrated human relations and effective verbal and written communication skills; and proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, problem solve and resolve conflicts for
Individuals, couples and groups.

This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. Licensed clinical social worker in the state of Utah

Five years practicing as an LCSW.
