Supports administrative operations and coordination of human subjects research studies – specifically the Adaptive COVID-19 Treatment Trial 4 (ACTT-4). Assists the Study Coordinator(s) and Principal Investigator in achieving study integrity and objectives through the successful implementation and completion of protocols and procedures through the duration of the study.
This position is considered Category IIA: Not required on campus and has the ability to telework remotely for the duration of the University of Utah’s response to COVID-19. An employee hired into this role will be responsible for providing space, telephone, printing, networking and/or internet capabilities at the telecommute location and agree to the terms of the University of Utah campus and Health Academics COVID-19 Telecommuting Agreement.
1. Explains and obtains informed consent, medical history and demographics; documents in source file and maintains with historical data, status reports, progress notes, and subject log to help ensure subject safety.

Nearly Continuously: Office environment.
Seldom: Infectious disease, exposure to animals, oils (there is air or skin exposure to oils or other cutting fluids)
Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required
Nearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking.
Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking.
Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead.
Associates degree or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). Completion of HIPAA Privacy & Security training may be required within two to five days of hire. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.
This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy. Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.

Healthcare experience and/or training preferred.
