Description

The Department of Psychology at the University of Chicago is continuing to build a new Social Psychology program. The Department invites applications for a Provost’s Postdoctoral Fellow who is interested in working collaboratively as we develop such a program at the University of Chicago. The Provost’s Postdoctoral Fellows Program reflects the University of Chicago’s commitment to increasing the diversity of its faculty. This fellowship provides up to two years of funding for junior scholars whose accomplishments make them exceptionally competitive for faculty positions. Provost’s Postdoctoral Fellows will be appointed as Instructors on the tenure track for up to two years with the intent that they will be promoted to Assistant Professor at the end of the fellowship period.

The new social psychology program will benefit from synergies with members of the Department of Psychology, researchers at the Center for Decision Research at the Booth School of Business, as well as the Committee on Education.  

Review of applications will begin on October 17, 2022 and will continue until the positions are filled or the search is closed.  Appointments may begin as early as July 1, 2023.


Qualifications

Applicants must be social psychologists who are interested in participating in a world-class program that welcomes and supports a diverse community of scholars and students. The Department of Psychology and the Division of Social Sciences are committed to the creation and the support of such a program. Ph.D. must be in hand by start of appointment.
