Description

The Department of Political Science at the University of Chicago invites applications for a Provost Postdoctoral Fellow in American Politics.  This position is part of a larger departmental hiring initiative in American Politics. We welcome applications from the entire subfield of American politics, and particularly from scholars who work in the areas of racial and ethnic politics, judicial politics, campaigns and elections, state and local politics, and/or the bureaucracy. This fellowship provides up to two years of funding for junior scholars whose accomplishments make them exceptionally competitive for faculty positions. Fellows will teach one course per year. At the end of the fellowship period and following an academic review, the Fellow may be directly promoted to a tenure-track assistant professorship. This position will begin on or after July 1, 2023.


Qualifications

Candidates must have completed all requirements for the PhD degree prior to the start of the appointment.
