Nature of Work:

The Department of Bioengineering at UC Denver Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora is seeking nominations and applications for the position of Professional Research Assistant in Professor Emily Gibson’s Biophotonics lab.   The successful candidate will assist with building electronics, writing code, and optical alignment for custom optical microscopes to do high resolution fluorescence imaging of biological samples.

 

This position is a part time (20 hours per week) temporary position for up to 1 year.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position has been established at $35,600 to $76,000. This is based on 1.0 FTE/100% full time effort.  This position will be 0.5 FTE or pro-rated at $17,800 - $38,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

 

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications

 

Required/Minimum Qualifications, Education/Experience/Skills:  

Bachelor of Scence degree in Engineering, Bioengineering or Electrical Engineering.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with fluorescence microscopy
  • Experience with electronics and computer programming
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently and in groups.
