Encodia is a rapidly growing platform company that is developing a new generation of protein analysis tools based on single-molecule protein sequencing. Our goal is to make protein sequencing easy and ubiquitous by using a novel reverse-translation technology that turns peptide sequences into DNA. The DNA can be read by a DNA sequencer, providing a path to breakthrough proteomics research at a scale that is not practical or cost-effective using current technologies. PROTEOMIC APPLICATIONS SCIENTIST

In this position you will have a hands-on role in developing novel sample preparation approaches and applications for Encodiaʼs proteomics platform. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with biological sample processing, including plasma, for LC-MS/MS analysis. Responsibilities include developing innovative proteomic applications and sample preparation methods.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Molecular/Cellular Biology, Analytical Chemistry, or related field.
• 2+ yearsʼ experience in proteomics and LC-MS/MS analysis. 
• Experience with flow cytometry, FACS, laboratory automation, and exosome/plasma proteins a plus. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Motivated, enthusiastic, proactive, detail-oriented, and organized individual.
• Exceptional collaborator with ability to work in interdisciplinary and cross-functional teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Developing novel sample preparation approaches and applications for Encodiaʼs proteomics platform.
• Optimizing ProteoCode sample preparation methods.
• Communicating effectively with colleagues through oral and written reports.
• Contributing to scientific manuscripts and grant applications.
• Generating new ideas for assays and contributing to the Companyʼs IP portfolio.
