Posting Context Statement
Position Overview
This position supports key stakeholders by delivering reports, major gift prospect recommendations and prospect pipeline insights to university administrators. They establish and execute regular data audits to enhance prospect management data quality for portfolio management and organizational reporting. Additionally, they analyze accumulated data to assess and facilitate the identification of new major gift prospects for the university.
Duties may include:
  • Monitor contact report submissions to ensure compliance with internal policies and standards
  • Compile and distribute prospect management reports, rate prospects, assign prospects to development officers, and collaborate on strategy development and performance analysis
  • Provide specialized research data to development officers and fundraisers for qualifying, cultivating and soliciting donations
  • Analyze prospect data for giving potential, inclination, linkage to major gifts, and philanthropic capacity
  • Assist in developing cultivation and solicitation strategies based on prospect assessments
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications


Required Experience
  • Five years research experience in development or related professional arena which includes:
    • Experience with online databases and services, information resources and data management
    • Knowledge of collecting, organizing, and analyzing data to support reporting and data visualization
    • Experience with prospect identification strategies and research techniques
    • Experience in project management including planning, execution, and cross-functional collaboration
  • A Bachelor’s Degree may substitute for four years of the above experience
Required Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Knowledge of development activities in higher education
  • Experience conducting analytical research
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as demonstrated in application materials
  • Possesses strong interpersonal and customer service skills
