|Description of Work||
PlayMakers is a professional theatre located on the campus of UNC Chapel Hill. We produce 6 shows on our Mainstage and 3 on our second stage as well as holding a Summer Youth Conservatory. As a member of the League of Resident Theatres (LORT) we seek to bring high quality art to campus to enhance the academic experience and engage our community.
The Prop shop consists of Properties Master, Prop Artisan, a student assistant & work study students. This position will work with and train shop crew drawn from undergraduate students. In cooperation with the Properties Master and the Props Department, the Properties Artisan will plan and oversee efficient and professional execution of work performed in the Center for Dramatic Art Properties Shop according to prescribed standards; build and or modify props as needed for productions; instruct graduate and undergraduate students in the Properties Shop; maintain facility, equipment and supplies; purchasing expendables and props; collaborating with other production and technical departments; and other duties as directed by the Properties Master. Position will adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by UNC and the Department.
