Position Description:
The Yap laboratory in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine ( ) is seeking a creative and self-motivated postdoc to investigate the molecular basis of ribosome quality control in human pathogen Staphylococcus aureus. The study will focus on ribosome recycling and turnover during stress responses and the roles of relevant key players in Staphylococcal pathophysiology.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in Biological Sciences (or a closely related field) and should have less than 3 years of postdoctoral experience. The ideal candidates will possess significant experimental training in bacterial genetics and biochemistry, as evidenced by at least one first authorship publication in peer-reviewed journals. Previous experience in RNA metabolism, and/or translational control, and/or murine model of infections is highly desired. The stipend level will be commensurate with years of experience. Starting date is negotiable.
