Position Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer or Information Security Manager, the IT System Analyst will be part of the IT Security team. This position is responsible for assisting with compliance with Arkansas State University policies, relevant laws and regulations, and protection of systems including:
1. Arkansas State University System Information Systems and Information Technology,
2. servers and endpoints
3. industrial automated control systems, and
4. other Arkansas State University devices connected to the campus network including cameras, printers, and surveillance systems


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The IT System Analyst is required to apply critical thinking and risk analysis methodologies when considering the relative risks and rewards of potential actions
  • Choosing the most appropriate course of action when evaluating the impact of vulnerabilities, threats and possible solutions; and considering both micro and macro impacts of their decision
  • Stay abreast of evolving Arkansas State University System needs, technology capabilities, and threat intelligence from a variety of sources to optimize systems and data protection measures
  • Will work with Arkansas State University System’s stakeholders to ensure security needs and controls are aligned to support organizational goals and objectives
  • Provide off-hours support when the need arises
  • Travel is required for this position
  • Other duties as assigned

This position requires superior people skills and "soft" skills, empathy, tact, flexibility, and collaboration

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance

This position has been identified as a telecommuting hybrid position. The duties are performed during standard work hours of 8am-5pm at a predefined and approved work location. Individuals filling this role must have dedicated work space that provides privacy and security related to the work being performed. Additionally, individuals must have secure internet access with appropriate upload/download capabilities to perform the duties associated with the position. Individuals in this position will be required to review and acknowledge the Telecommuting Guidelines and Telecommuting Agreement for A-State


Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of an earned Bachelor's Degree
