Position Summary:
The Director of Online International Initiatives directs the planning, development, organization, management, direction, and implementation of all aspects of an online international student’s lifecycle related to admissions, registration, advising, and financial services support. This position will report to the Director of A-State Online
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Handle day to day operations of A-State Online international student population, including admissions, advising, registration, student support, and financial services processes
- Develop and implement strategic plans for expanding international initiatives through online platforms. This involves identifying target regions, setting goals, and determining the best online methods to engage international audiences
- Conducts research to identify alternative methods for handling effective advising and student success (retention) of online international students
- Foster relationships with international partners, stakeholders, and organizations to support and expand online initiatives
- Serve as liaison between existing partners, specifically collaborating alongside team at A-State Qatar location
- Ensure that online international initiatives comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in education and online learning
- Protects confidentiality of records and information about students and staff and follows FERPA guidelines when sharing any such information – understands core principles of FERPA and provide guidance and leadership to team members
- Establish metrics and evaluation processes to assess the effectiveness and impact of online international initiatives. Use data to make informed decisions about program adjustments, expansions, or discontinuations
- Handle oversight of state operating agreement to ensure A-State online programs remain in compliance with state regulations, and follows necessary steps to gain approval in additional states where appropriate
- Display comprehensive knowledge of admissions, registration, and advising processes in all situations across variety of software platforms – Banner, Slate etc.
- Act as a representative of Arkansas State University in matters related to online international initiatives, advocating for policies, programs, and practices that support global engagement
- Other duties as assigned

This position has been identified as a telecommuting position. The duties are performed during standard work hours of 8am-5pm at a predefined and approved work location. Individuals filling this role must have dedicated work space that provides privacy and security related to the work being performed. Additionally, individuals must have secure internet access with appropriate upload/download capabilities to perform the duties associated with the position. Individuals in this position will be required to review and acknowledge the Telecommuting Guidelines and Telecommuting Agreement for A-State
