Job Summary
Responsibilities
Responsible for developing, organizing and creating reports and presentations relevant to infrastructure/renovation/construction projects.
Manages all data collection and information flow from vendors/contractors and ensures senior management is informed and/or aware of activities with significant impact on the overall program.
Manages activities/visits with external groups, service providers and contractors.
Participates in the monitoring of environmental conditions (lights, temperature and humidity) and verifies proper operation of building systems.
Manages responses to infrastructural/building deficiencies.
Generates reports to support activities for all applicable federal, state, local and AAALAC requirements.
Oversees the delivery process of all renovation/construction projects from the design phase through close out/completion.
Responsible for managing the construction and renovation of physical assets and bringing assets online in the most efficient and effective manner.
Coordinates schedules and provides status updates and reports on active projects.
Reviews project documentation and proposals.
Helps develop SOPs and other administrative tools to optimize use of newly renovated spaces.
Requests and assesses quotes from vendors and coordinates the bidding and selection process of outside contractors/vendors and development of budgets with the finance group.
Responsible for maintaining working relationships with University and UCMC facilities and physical plant groups.
Help facilitate larger infrastructure improvements required by the program.
Promote E4 leadership (lean management) principals within the unit and participate in ARC E4 events as appropriate.
Manage preventative maintenance schedules for external vendors.
Provide regular reports to leadership on ongoing issues.
Help forecast expected life of equipment and plan for capital replacements proactively.
Makes decisions guided by SOPs, policies, procedures and business plan; works closely with the business and finance teams to develop and/or plan various repairs, upgrades and renovation projects.
Follow construction standards, provide applicable training to external parties to ensure quality, timeliness, compatibility and sustainability plans.
Works with minimal guidance to manage project planning process, including facilitating and performing value engineering, soliciting or preparing construction cost estimates, and coordinating selection of vendors and contractors. Assists in developing the master project schedule, defining the roles and responsibilities for the whole project team.
Guides the design and construction of spaces and buildings. Establishes and reviews project documentation, prepares monthly progress reports, and negotiates additional services and contractors change order requests.
Has a deep understanding in Facilities Project Delivery leading others to develop and recommend process improvements relating to their work on larger, complex facilities projects.
Performs other related work as needed.

Bachelor’s degree.
Experience:
5-7 years experience with project management, preferably with physical plant/engineering and/or architectural environments.
Prior experience in an academic environment, preferably within a research setting.
Preferred Competencies

Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills.
Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
Willingness to work successfully as a member of a team, ability to communicate effectively with faculty, graduate students and various administrative offices at all levels of the University, ability to prioritize.
Strong decision-making skills and ability to work under pressure of frequent deadlines.
Ability to work on more than one project at one time and meet deadlines.
Capacity to handle multiple tasks in a short amount of time.
Must be detailed and organized.
Ability to analyze and solve problems.
Working Conditions
Requires a fair amount of walking between facilities, also entails working at a computer in an office environment.
Able to lift/push up to 50 lbs.
