What we want

This position will manage project activities including developing, implementing, tracking budgets, tracking timelines and deliverables, and providing periodic evaluations and reports for projects that are generally medium in scope.

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Five years of experience in social science research, organizing complex projects or other related areas

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively use Office Software Suite

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

  • Ability to travel throughout the State of Texas

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in Public Health or related field

  • Experience working in a social science research environment

  • Experience publishing peer reviewed papers

  • Expertise in virtual reality environments; ability to perform statistical data analysis

  • Experience conducting literature reviews

Responsibilities:

Manages project activities

  • Works in close collaboration with research team to design, develop, manage, and evaluate interventions and initiatives, including activities related to data collection, preparing and coordinating IRB human subjects research protocols, and developing research project operational procedures.

  • Serves as project liaison and point of contact; respond to requests promptly, with understanding of task prioritization; routinely communicates project status updates to faculty and project leads.

  • Conducts literature reviews to inform design, implementation, and evaluation of research interventions as well as dissemination products such as manuscripts and presentations for a variety of audiences.

  • Leads development and production of program material, including refinement/adaptation of program curricula, and reviewing and revising related materials for critical content.  

Manages project quality control, assurance and supervise project team

  • Supervises and coordinates program support staff, including graduate and undergraduate students; troubleshoots and provides day to day support to Extension educators and other field staff

  • Oversees the Virtual Reality Laboratory operations, including planning, organizing, and managing day to day activities to support programmatic goals

  • Assists in developing project strategic plans and goals; develop and track a master calendar for all project milestones and deadlines

  • Conducts site visits and collect program implementation and fidelity data

  • Drafts and edits reports and presentations for funding agencies

  • Works on other grant applications/projects as they get funding

  • Performs other duties as assigned
